On March 20th, the "Grape Society" was launched in our company's conference room.
Former members of the Sogo baseball team gathered to plan the event to enliven "Kawachinagano", and 20 people attended.
In this age of aging, "oral frailty" is a hot topic.
Frailty is the idea that when the mouth weakens, it leads to the weakening of the entire body.
This is an activity in which each person uses their previous experience and connections to "understand the importance of teeth and live a healthy old age".
We agreed to have fun activities centered around Murakami and Tokumaru.
It has been 35 years since the toothpick reference room was established in 1990. With the cooperation of many people, the collection has grown, and the "web collection" that we had been preparing from the beginning has reached 500 items, and the number of views has gradually increased. It is a small token of gratitude to those who have provided us with valuable materials.
In July, we sent most of the exhibits in the archives to Mr. Ishii, an architectural designer in Tokyo, to have them photographed by an art photographer. For this reason, the Toothpick Archives will be closed from July to August. Seeing the empty archives for the first time made me realize once again how important the archives room is. We plan to have the items returned in September, and reopen the archives.
Just closing it for a while makes you realize the magnitude and weight of the Toothpick Archives, and the achievements it has made over the 35 years since its establishment.
The archives were returned in September. Starting early on Saturday the 6th, we unpacked and organized the items, spending the whole day putting most of them back in place. We immediately received requests to tour the archives. First, a local elementary school, followed by a professor from Yamagata University and people from a trading company in Nagano Prefecture.
We plan to show them around again as they were before.
