Finally after the trial and error of three years in 2002 the doctor pick was completed. We applied for grant by Osaka prefecture's "Management Innovation Law" and submitted a subsidy for 6.2 million yen, "Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry" creation technology, and received economic support of 8 million yen. A press release was also held at Ryukoku University who cheered on both sides of the matter. Although academic-industrial collaboration is being strongly screamed, reporters of many newspaper companies gathered in fact that there are few actual success cases. Twenty triangular picks are connected horizontally and this is the world standard, but the toothpick which cut the tip of the round shaft into a triangle was noticed because it was the world's first. Every time they visited Ryukoku University such as the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry etc, they convey this success case and gained a great awareness. Meanwhile, I was asked for the report from many branch of association (since it was reported without saying a lecture at small & medium enterprise association), but since then I have been asked to give a lecture there after, I emphasize the importance of industry-university collaboration using Power Point. Every time I talk about Ryukoku University’s gratifying support, we have a good mutual relationship.
